Cultural Connectors: Building Creative Community Through Shared Values
Cultural Connectors is a community-led initiative created by Artists’ Apothecary to bring artists, makers, practitioners and creatives together through meaningful connection. Rooted in East London, the project exists to support local creativity while creating welcoming spaces where people can meet, share ideas and grow together.
At its core, Cultural Connectors is guided by a clear ethos. These values shape how events are curated, how participants are supported and how the wider community is invited in. The programme is built around three guiding principles: Connect and Create, Gather and Grow, and Support and Share.
Connect and Create
Connection is the foundation of Cultural Connectors. The programme is designed to bring people together across creative disciplines, backgrounds and experiences, recognising that creativity thrives when ideas are shared.
Through pop-up events, workshops and collaborative spaces, Cultural Connectors creates opportunities for artists, makers and practitioners to meet one another in an open and relaxed environment. These connections often lead to collaboration, learning and creative growth. By encouraging dialogue and exchange, the project helps turn individual creative practices into a connected creative network.
Creating alongside others also builds confidence. Whether someone is exhibiting their whether someone is exhibiting their work for the first time or has an established practice, Cultural Connectors offers a space where creativity is encouraged, valued and supported.
Gather and Grow
Cultural Connectors recognises that creative growth happens best in community. Gathering people together allows ideas to develop, skills to expand and opportunities to emerge.
Events are designed to help participants grow in practical and meaningful ways. Makers and artists gain visibility, connect with new audiences and learn from peers. Workshops and shared experiences create space for experimentation, reflection and development, while pop-up markets and community fundays help small businesses build confidence and momentum.
Growth is not only individual but collective. By gathering regularly, Cultural Connectors helps strengthen the local creative ecosystem, encouraging sustainable creative practices rooted in community rather than competition.
Support and Share
Support and sharing sit at the heart of Cultural Connectors. The project is committed to fostering a culture where creatives uplift one another through generosity, collaboration and shared knowledge.
This ethos encourages skill-sharing, mentorship and mutual encouragement. Participants are invited to share their experiences, techniques and insights, creating an environment where learning flows naturally between people.
Support also means creating inclusive and accessible spaces. Cultural Connectors aims to reduce barriers for creatives by offering opportunities that are welcoming, community-focused and grounded in care. By prioritising collaboration over competition, the project helps build trust and long-term relationships within the creative community.
A Community Rooted in Creativity and Care
Cultural Connectors is more than a series of events. It is a growing community shaped by shared values, creative exchange and collective care. Each gathering contributes to a wider network of artists, makers and practitioners who are connected not just by what they create, but by how they choose to support one another.
Through its ethos of connecting and creating, gathering and growing, and supporting and sharing, Cultural Connectors continues to build meaningful spaces where creativity and community can thrive together.
Artists’ Apothecary invites anyone interested in creativity, culture and community to be part of Cultural Connectors and help shape a more connected and supportive creative landscape.
